Replaced my former GM junk. Great pick up and nice lines. Pioneer sound system gives a great sound.

For the most part a good SUV. Have had trouble with the interior. The arm rest broke off and the driver side seat is sagging from getting in and out. The 4 wheel drive will go through anything, the best ive seen. Been a couple recalls with the recent having to disconnect the cruise control due to fire hazard. Frustrating trying to fit stuff in small vehicle but it is a 2 door sport

Purchased used to try for a first SUV. Mainly around town use and weekend mountain biking. Mileage is good 17- 20, ride is truck-like (read rough) but overall a well-built vehicle. Impressed by size and strength of underbody components compared to the new sport-utes. Buying this used blew away any new vehicle when you figure out the overall $/mile it costs to run this truck. Plus it is awesome in the snow here in Michigan.

I love my Explorer, when I first got it the transmission went out, but it was under warranty, no big deal and they gave me a loaner. The car runs very smooth for an SUV, its pretty quiet, seats are comfortable and anyone can fix it.

I purchased my 2003 Ford Explorer Sport back in 2006 truck was 2.5 years old and had 32000 Miles on it. I am a Heavy equipment mechanic so I service my own vehicles. regular oil changes every 3000 K, front rear diff t-case oil every 50000 K, I have replaced brakes many of times approx. every 40000K fronts and 60000K rear, I tow a 3500 l b trailer a few times a year across country in summer rest of driving is around town, Truck now has 172500 K on it and still runs well, Ive also replaced the tires twice and battery once everything else is all original!! This vehicle does everything I ask for.

  • All good, but transmission - 2001 Ford Explorer Sport

I bought my Explorer with 46,xxx miles on it. Now at 146,xxx miles, Ive grown really fond of almost everything about the truck. Except the fact that Ive had to rebuild the transmission twice! It went out once right before 100,000 and again about 40k later! The moonroof leaks pretty bad, too. Its treated me great otherwise, but Im sick of replacing the transmission and the 18 MPG, too.

This truck rides like a car. The acceleration is incredible. The ride is very smooth compared to my 93 Exp. Sport.Instrument cluster has a great look to it and the exterior looks rough and ready.

  • Commanding View of the Road! - 2003 Ford Explorer Sport

Purchased this vehicle October 6th,2015. I couldnt be happier with a sporty two door 4X4! XLT I purchased came with all the bells and whistles...leather, power everything, sunroof, auto headlights & dimming rear view mirror, remote start, courtesy lights, & 4wheel drive enabled by a simple dash dial. Only 135k and runs solid and strong! Reminds me of a refined "grown up" version of a Jeep Wrangler. Turning radius is superb, view of traffic and surroundings is excellent! I live in Phoenix, AZ where the monsoons are sudden and can be quite severe, but outfitted with larger tires and 4X4 makes inclement weather something to laugh at! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a versatile, dependable ride with looks to boot! Too soon to really tell about reliability, but those reviews to be more positive than not, and was one of my main reasons for my recent purchase.

  • Keep on Truckin! - 2003 Ford Explorer Sport

I bought this a couple of years ago at a buy here- pay here for way too much money, but I have been pleasantly surprised, at the reliability of this vehicle! I have had to do some repairs on it, but nothing major, driveshaft, hoses, and spark plugs, not much else! Not bad for an 11 year old Truck with 170,000 miles on it!
